LHEP inaugural issue is out!

The first issue of Letters in High Energy Physics (LHEP) is finally here. It features five high quality peer-reviewed original research articles on various topics in high energy physics and cosmology. Dark matter candidates, CMS supersymmetry search, CPT symmetric universe, MACHO messages from the big bang, and quasi Newtonian cosmological models all appear in this inaugural issue. “It was a pleasure to work with our editorial board and our production staff on this first issue, I hope we continue on this path in the future” remarked Shaaban Khalil, the editor-in-chief of LHEP. Browse the free content from LHEP’s homepage or download the entire issue here.

New conference proceedings series

A conference proceedings series is being launched by Andromeda’s team. Both print and online publishing services are planned. The first installment in this series will feature the proceedings from BSM-2017 (Beyond the Standard Model). This international conference took place last December in Hurghada, Egypt. It was organized by the Center for Fundamental Physics (CFP), which is one of the research centers in Egypt’s Zewail City of Science and Technology.

Andromeda set to join Crossref

A Digital Object Identifiers (DOI) is an electronic identifier which is uniquely attached to online content, facilitating continued (persistent) access to it. It is now widely used to facilitate linking to, as well as cross-linking between, published academic content. Crossref, a professional organization of publishers and other societies, acts as a registration agency for DOIs. “We are moving to seek membership of Crossref” said Professor Ali Abdou, Andromeda’s executive director. “Such membership is both a privilege and a commitment; It means we are going to be vigilant about updating our metadata and our links”, added Dr. Abdou. Metadata (data about data) is a key ingredient in enabling online searches. Joining Crossref entails a contractual obligation to update metadata such that DOIs resolve properly to the current location of the corresponding online content. “We want the best for our authors; keeping their research accessible for other researchers is an absolute priority”, said Dr. Abdou.
